Lead Tralee Parade

Emer Jones of Presentation
Secondary School, winner of this year’s BT Young Scientists
Competition, will be the grand marshal of this year’s Tralee St.
Patrick’s Day Parade. Music will be the theme of this year’s
parade, according to organising committee chairman, Cllr.
Johnnie Wall. Eight separate bands will be marching or
performing on festival floats.
The Parade will include an Army
Colour Party, the Tralee and Cullen Pipe Bands, Brazillian Samba
Band, school bands, scouts, sports, community, local state,
voluntary groups and Kerry team members with SAM . The streets
of the town are being specially decorated for the weekend.
Groups are to assemble at 11.30
am on Monday morning along JJ Sheehy Road and the parade,
commencing at 12 noon, will follow its normal route down
Boherbee, Castle Street, left into Denny Street where the
reviewing stand will be erected.
There will be traditional music
in the Square over the weekend and the major multicultural KADE
concert in the Brandon Hotel on Monday afternoon and the whole
event is free.
