Tralee to
Feature in Dublin Parade

Tralee is one of five Tidy Towns
groups invited to participated in this years St. Patrick’s Day
Parade in Dublin. SuperValue has sponsored one of the main
parade attractions to mark the 50th year of the National Tidy
Towns Competition and 30 students, the majority drawn from the
Mercy Mounthawk Transition Year group, will represent Tralee.
Local co-ordinator Pat Hurley and visiting choreographer Marina
of TDC Projects have been putting the students through their
paces at the Kerry Scout Hall in Matt Talbot Road. It’s a tight
deadline, said Pat, but everything is falling into place. Thye
group will be among 100 participants on the Tidy Towns “Energy”
entry which will be one of the most spectacular in the national
parade which will be broadcast live on Irish and US
coat-to-coast TV on St. Patrick’s Day. Tralee’s participation is
supported by SuperValu, Tidy Tralee Together and Tralee Town
Council.
