Christ the King Park
Dedicated

Braving wind and rain over 200
people gathered at the new Christ the King Park in Ballymullen
on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 26th), for the dedication of the new
park and statue by Monsignor Dan O’Riordan, Dean of Kerry. Msgr.
O’Riordan who was joined by the Mayor of Tralee. Cllr. Norma
Foley and Tralee Town Manager Michael McMahon, thanked all those
who had contributed in any way to making the park a reality. The
statue of Christ the King, which is the centrepiece of the new
development, had formerly stood in the Presentation Convent in
Milltown. The landscaped park has been laid out by Tralee Town
Council’s Environmental Section and the site works for the
statue and plinth were funded by anonymous donors all of whom
Mayor Foley thanked in a short address. The Dean offered prayers
for all those associated with the project and for the residents
of the Ballymullen area.
