Mass Celebrated in Town Park

 

To coincide with Féile na mBláth / Tralee Garden Festival 2011 the 12 noon Mass on Sunday June 19 was switched from St. John's to the Town Park nearby. Because of the soft underground conditions caused by heavy rain the previous evening Mass was celebrated in the festival marquee which had its sides opened up to facilitate the large congregation. The sounds of the combined choirs led by John Jones reverberated throughout the 30 acre park which was looking its splendid best for the occasion.
It was the first public performance of the new Tralee Youth Gospel Choir.

The main concelebranted Fr.Gerard Finucane, spoke about the glory of God and His creation so visibly present in the park. Locas were joined by visitors to the festival from both Ireland and abroad.
