51st Rose of Tralee Festival Begins in Style

The 51st Rose of Tralee is underway in Kerry Capital with thousands of visitors flocking to the town for the 5 day festival.  The festival kicked off on Friday evening with the Rose Ball, the glamour event of the year. Over 900 people attended the event including a host of media and show business personalities. Denny Street was packed on Saturday evening for the Rose Parade and fireworks display with large numbers of Irish visitors who have opted to holiday at home this year. The Irish Examiner Autumn/Winter Fashion Show attracted a capacity attendance at the Festival Dome on Sunday night while Corona entertained on the Ashe Platform. The 32 roses will be accorded honorary citizenship of Tralee by Tralee Town Council on Monday morning in Siamsa Tíre before beginning rehearsals for the first of two  live TV broadcasts from the festival dome in RTE 1 on Monday night.  Full Festival Programme details at:
