The German town of Frankfurt-Höchst is to continue its backing of the Tralee Christmas Market next year. Delegation leader Thomas Meder has confirmed that the group will be back in Kerry in 2010 to support an expanded market in the town centre.  He suggested that Germans living in Kerry be invited to get involved next year. “We had numerous approaches from Germans domiciled in Kerry offering their support for next year. These together with your local Kerry traders and craftspeople can put on a superb show. The weather was a little disappointing but the welcome and hospitality of the townspeople more than compensated for that" he said.

On Monday evening December 7th over 400 people attended the organ recital in St. John’s Church, Castle Street by the famous German organist Rolf Henry Kunz who is organist at the Justinuskirche in . Höchst. Dr. Kunz played selections from the play works of Bach, Whitlock, Tschaikowski, Clarke, French composer Gigout and Slovenian Matija Tomc. He was assisted by St. John's organist John Jones. Dean Sean Hanafin said the performance raised the hearts and spirits and was a fitting tribute to mark the installation of the first pipe organ in St. John’s by the Stahlhuth Brothers from Aachen in 1909.
